Sometimes, in our everyday lives, things seem to be moving so FAST. Life really flies by, and there’s usually a million things going on at once. I know that as a high school student, it is a lot of stress going to school, doing homework, and taking tests ( yeah still haven’t mastered that one ). And those are just pressures from an academic standpoint!
There are so many different things that cause stress, and I don’t even like to think about them honestly. However, I used to struggle even more than I do now! That is because I didn’t have good mechanisms to cope with my stress. I realized something one day. I was in the car one morning on my way to school and I thought, ” What if I meditated on The Word as much as I stress over my tests? ” Think about what life would be like if we studied our Bibles as much as we check our phones, or as much as we study. We would be set! So what’s holding us back?
Lately, whenever I am stressed or upset about things that don’t even really matter, I have totally turned to Christ. Christ is our voice, our hope, and our strength. Worshipping him is the highest honor that I can even dream of.
There will always be pressure on you. You will always feel like the walls are closing in, or like life couldn’t get any harder. However, this is when we must be still. Today, I have been going through a few verses in Psalms, and a verse stuck out to me.
Even when I must walk through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for you are with me; your rod and your staff reassure me.
So, even when we are stressed or upset, remember that He is always with us. Our souls only can find true rest when we are actively seeking Him.
If life is stressing you out, I encourage you to take even just ten minutes to have some quiet time with God. No phones, no outside distractions. You could journal, pray, sing worship songs, or read The Word. I promise you that it will literally change your mindset and life. Feed your spirit with His love, and you will grow immensely. Everyone is welcome in His kingdom, as long as we accept Jesus as our Savior.
What I have been trying to do is reading my Bible first thing in the morning so I can have a great start to my day. Then when I get home from my classes I turn on some worship music and write my daily blog! I feel like blogging is definitely a form of worship for me! At night, I usually have some time to journal and pray so my mind will be at peace before I go to bed!
My best advice is to listen, and let God guide you. I hope you all had an awesome Monday, and feel free to message me about anything! – Cami
