So I don’t know about y’all but my brain thinks the best in the middle of the night ( that’s why I always post at like 11 haha but then I’m so tired because I have school the next day. ) Anyways, I want to talk about life and faith and everything I don’t really know. I’m kinda just gonna ramble about life and struggles I guess. This will be reallyyyy scattered because it’s like 1:30 in the morning.. oopsies!
Something that I really struggle with is trying to please others. I wanna be the best I can for other people. Perfect body, perfect selfie, perfect life… but this isn’t attainable. On social media we always make it seem like our lives are perfect. That we have everything on track. It seems like nothing bad ever happens in our lives, and that we are all super exciting, adventurous, and amazing people.
Sometimes I get sad because I feel like my life doesn’t measure up, that my body doesn’t measure up, etc, etc. But I’m starting to realize that God didn’t create us to be perfect. He knows we aren’t perfect. He knows our deepest and darkest secrets and He still chose to love us. I know that everyone struggles with insecurities, but we have to remember and rest in the fact that God made us just how He intended. He is the artist, and we are His canvas. To say that we look bad or are ugly is literally insulting one of God’s wonderful and magnificent creations!
Y’all… God calls us higher. He calls us to be higher than just an Instagram feed or a funny tweet. He calls us to be His followers. He wants a relationship with us. So go out and follow Him. Don’t follow the world, or it’s ways. It will just lead to distraction. The path of God is hard to follow, but it is so beyond worth it.
Instead of complimenting each other on our weight loss or on our cute selfies… let’s start telling other people how much their faith has grown, or how strong of a person they are. Words are powerful. Use them to God’s glory. One thing I’ve been praying for is that every word that comes out of my mouth will praise God. Praise God while you are encouraging others. It will mean so much more. Let’s help each other grow in our relationships with God instead of growing in our own egos!
Life isn’t perfect, and bad things will happen. But we can rest in God and His perfect, pure love. He makes us beautiful. Not our makeup or our outfits. Only His love can make us truly wonderful and amazing people. So let’s all soak on that fact this weekend! – Cami
2 Corinthians 12:9
But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. ” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
