Have you ever been worshipping at church or looking at how the sun hits the leaves on the trees and you just get an overwhelming feeling of how good God is? That feeling is something that lately, I have been trying to search for daily and strive for.
Some people think that Christianity is just a book of rules that you have to follow in order to be a good Christian. Or that being a Christian is something that you only identify with on Sunday mornings. These beliefs are so common, and I know that I have been trapped in both of these things in my life. But when you believe these things, you are missing out on some of the best parts of being a Christian.
The best feeling in the world is being filled by The Holy Spirit. Some people only feel God on ” special occasions ” like missions trips, Christian conferences, or at a concert. These are also the occasions when people tend to allow The Spirit to touch their soul. After these events, people always say how great they feel or that they felt so close to God. But then, a couple weeks later, they stop being as on fire for Jesus. I honestly don’t understand this. If it feels so amazing to be filled by The Holy Spirit, how can you want that to stop?
Feeling God doesn’t have to be just on special occasions. In fact, you should feel The Spirit of God with you everyday of your life. Look around, His love and goodness is everywhere. Open up those dusty Bibles or download a worship playlist on Spotify. These simple things will immediately draw you closer to God and feeling His presence. It is never the wrong time to worship God. He is with us all the time, and we are never too busy for Him. Think about it, He keeps track this entire universe and every single person on this earth, and he still has time for you. So there isn’t an excuse of being too busy for Him!
Psalm 51:11-Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me
Proverbs 8:30- Then I was constantly at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence.
I remember the first time I felt The Holy Spirit. It was such a wonderful moment that brought me to tears. Oftentimes, when I feel His Spirit with me, it makes me want to just cry with adoration of how amazing He really is. Pray that The Holy Spirit will fill you, lead you, and guide you every step you take. He is with us always and He will never forsake us! – Cami
This is such a good post, thank you so much for sharing! And I definitely agree, it feels so good and happy to be filled with the Holy Spirit so why would I even want to stop? 🙂
